Copy the link to a recorded Space on x.com and paste it into TranscriptX. You get the full conversation as text with speaker labels and optional timestamps, at about 1–2 minutes per hour of audio. No X account is needed, and up to 5 hours a day is free. The Space has to be recorded and public; live Spaces can be transcribed once they end.
X Spaces are live audio rooms, and the best of them are long, unscripted conversations between many people. That is what makes them valuable — and what makes them hard to revisit. There is no way to skim audio, and finding one answer in a three-hour replay means listening to most of it.
An X Spaces transcript turns the replay into a document. You can search it for a project name, a date or a number, read the part that matters, and copy exact quotes with the speaker and time attached.
For video and audio in ordinary posts rather than Spaces, see X Transcription.
Find the ended Space on the host's profile or in the post that announced it, and make sure a recording is available.
Use the share icon to copy the Space link, or copy the x.com address from your browser.
TranscriptX downloads the audio from the public link — no login, no file to save. A long Space takes a few minutes; our mini-game is there if you want something to do meanwhile.
Read the labelled conversation, jump to timestamps, and download it as a document or caption file.
Spaces break most transcription tools in two ways: they are too long, and they have too many speakers. TranscriptX takes the full recording in one piece — no splitting, no one-hour cut-off — and keeps each voice separate from the first minute to the last.
The numbers: an hour of audio takes about 1–2 minutes, and up to 5 hours a day is free, enough for nearly every Space. For all-day events, a paid plan has no daily cap; our longest test, a single 10-hour recording, finished in about 10 minutes. See Transcribe Large Audio Files for more on very long recordings.
Publish a written recap or show notes after every Space, and give listeners who missed it a way to catch up.
Keep a written record of AMAs and launch calls, so roadmap details and dates are easy to check later.
Quote speakers exactly, with the speaker label and timestamp to back each quote up.
Search a three-hour replay for the one topic you care about and read just that section.
The Space was not recorded: without a recording, there is no audio left once the Space ends.
The Space is still live: wait until it ends and the replay is available.
The Space is not public: if the recording is restricted, TranscriptX has no permission to access it.
Yes, for up to 5 hours of audio a day with no account and no card. The allowance resets at the start of each day, Pacific Time (PT).
About 1–2 minutes per hour of audio, depending on how busy the service is.
Yes. Each voice is labelled throughout, so you can follow who said what across the whole Space.
No. A public link to the recorded Space is all TranscriptX needs.
Yes, on a paid plan, which has no daily cap. We have tested single recordings of 10 hours.
For a few days, then they are deleted automatically. Your content is never used to train AI models.
